Final Reflection

The first semester has come to an end and Get Fit will be over in no more than a week. It's sad to think about, and I'll miss not being able to end the school day off with a fun time with all my friends in this class. Over the last five months, I've made so many new friends that i can say "hi" to in the hallways and I've had so many awesome experiences. This class was full of motivated people, that I didn't feel out of place when I actually tried my best at something.
I've never had this much fun with fitness before. My first year or so when I was in gymnastics and we would have to do conditioning, my mindset was more like "I have to do this." Then as the years went by, it was more like "I want to do rope climbs with no legs. I want to do 75 push ups because I didn't go for my back tuck on beam." because I understood that by doing so, there's no harm. It's just going to make me stronger, not only physically but mentally too. It's the same with Get Fit. I want to go on a 25 minute run. I want to do the beep test to see if I can improve. I want to do yoga. I've improved in many of the fitness activities, and in my running endurance too. After each class, I walk away feeling accomplished, and I'm going to keep staying active in second semester, and...the rest of my life.
Part of why I love Get Fit is because of the field trips. Doing the Grouse Grind was an amazing but super tiring workout that really made me push myself. I'm sure I'll go do it againat least twice in the summer. Going to splitz, tae kwon do, ice skating, dance, and snowshoeing were all so much fun too.
I also learned about how girls and women are misrepresented. Watching missrepresentation made me more aware and I actually notice when people make comments about someone like "Oh, well she's a girl."
I'd love to take this class again, but I also want to go towards dance. I really want to keep the skills that I have and and perform for everybody. This class was full of amazing experiences and memories, I'll never regret taking it. I've learned so much from this course and I'll take all of it with me into the future.
